A samurai I made. I am kinda planning a game involving this character, him being a friend that is helping you out through out the storyline. It took a lot of work, but I'm proud of this one!

Hello, Newgrounds. First of all, I'd like to stick a disclaimer here. This post is a rant. I don't know what the point of it is, I just feel like clearing my head of the ideals circulating from my head. I will not talk about the making of any games or others news. So if you are expecting that, please stop reading this post.

This is my philosophy on the world. I am 17 years old, and a Junior in high shool in a small town in Colorado. I don't try very hard in school but manage to get very good grades still, as I'm pretty smart. I think heavily on many things and try to always look at the big picture. I still wish to go to college and get a degree in something, but over the last couple of months, I have been thinking very critically on where I stand in this planet.

I don't want to be just another person. I want to be somebody that really changes the world as we know it. I want to go above and beyond, I want to be outstanding. The first idea that came to my mind was politics. But the idea of being a politician is becoming increasingly absurd to me with each new thought. Politics is a game of digging up the dirt of your opponent, a game where the only way to win is by the people you know. And the only true office worth running for with the ideals I have in mind is presidency, an office I find incredibly unlikely to actually achieve.

When I say a bright, but inevitably doomed tomorrow, I am talking about the world as a whole. The world has a bright future because our species is evolving at a tremendous rate, meaning we can do great things. But the world is having more problems than ever before. With global warming becoming a large issue, natural resources depleting, and overpopulation, we can not ignore the planet we so desperately need to keep running efficiently. But where is the money in finding the fixes to these problems? There is no money to be made on fixing these problems, so people will continue to turn the other cheek at them. It pains me to think about how the world can end: an apocalyptic world where people are fighting for food and water, devolving in a sense.

How are we to fix these problems? I don't know. I really do not see what can be done. I am one man, wanting to tackle the world's problems head on, but without a clue as to what direction to move in.

I do not have a religion, nor am I looking for one. I feel like all are very similar, and is inevitably a lot of nonsense. There are thousands of religions out there; who's to say which religion is correct? Most religions believe that being a non-believer means damnation. But if this is true, than most of the world will be damned, while the select few in that one religion that was correct will earn their salvation. It isn't right to believe in such a thing. I believe in doing the right thing, being a good person, and ultimately being righteous. I feel that if there is a higher power, than I will receive my salvation by doing right in this lifetime I was given, as with all people, regardless of religion.

The questions I have about a higher power, the meaning of life, etc. are a big topic of thought in my mind. When I think heavily on it, I feel there is but one thing humans can do in order to answer these sacred questions: aliens.

Now hear me out on this ridiculously silly sounding topic. Extra-terrestrial life forms exist, obviously. With billions of planets out there, probably millions similar to ours, there absolutely has to be aliens somewhere out there. Of all of those aliens out there, there has to be some life forms that are evolved past our own, being smarter than ours, more knowledgeable. I feel that as a species, one of our major goals should be to find aliens more evolved than us. These aliens can help us, possibly even knowing the answers to my questions, the questions that wander in the heads of millions, if not billions of people. Even if they do not have the answers to these questions, knowing how they have managed such a successful species would ultimately benefit us, as we have massive problems of our own (destroying our planet).

Okay, so maybe that idea is a bit crazy, but as I said, I try to look at the big picture. Even if we don't go after finding aliens, we at least need to invest in space. Space is the unexplored region of the universe. We need to look past our planet. We are not going to be able to support life too much longer on Earth, meaning investment in colonies on other planets is a must. I feel that as it was America's Manifest Destiny to stretch from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific cost, it is Human's Manifest Destiny to expand past our planet, maybe even past our solar system.

I conclude here with this final paragraph. I think heavily about the world, about the problems we are having, about what we need to do to fix them. But since humans are stubborn and capitalistic, we can only do so much when it comes to political and economical affairs. The problems we have will only be mended once it is to the point where it is a necessity, which is a very bad way to go. The only sure way for our species to survive past the next thousand years is to invest in space travel, to invest in expansion into space. My ideas may be radical, but I want what is best for the world, and damn it, I'm going to invest my life into putting these ideals into affect.

End of rant. Thank you for reading my ideals.

...for Tankmen: Battle 3.

New Weapons

Posted by C01 - December 12th, 2010

Okay, so if anyone who reads this had played through all of Tankmen: Battle 2, then they'd know there is to be a sequel. This is confirmed: I will make a sequel, hopefully released by March 2011. I came with news of both that game, and my other project, still of unknown name with that character in the last post.

Tankmen: Battle 3
This game centers on what Hank told the president in Tankmen: Battle 2. Those bigger things going on is the fact that they are all creations, and he knows who Tom Fulp is. The game will center on taking down early creations of Tom Fulp, such as Pico, Dad n' Me, etc. Unlike the last game though, I plan to re-invent Tankmen: Battle. In this new one, you will use a squadron instead of just one tankman. It will be a group of four, with 3 customizeable tankmen and a noble leader known simply as 'Captain'. There will be more stats in this one, new skills, and a more creative battle system. Expect a much better game here, with more strategy required.
Expected Release: March 2011

Other Game
This game will center on that character I posted in my last news post. He has complete control over the elements, and is set in ancient Greece. His power is so great, that the gods fear him and wish him dead. Join him on his adventure of survival against the gods. This game will tie in with future games, such as Lucifer's Champion, a project I mentioned a while back but never really did anything with. He plays an appearance in Lucifer's Champion, as you will find out why in the end of the game I plan to create after Tankmen: Battle 3.
Expected Release: July 2011

So there you go. I will stall progress on TM:B3 towards the end of December, since I will take part in the next Newgrounds Game Jam. But other than that, it should be smooth sailing from then on. Expect greater and more significant creations in 2011.

Okay, so its time to get crackin' on something new. I created this character...always been a concept in my head, but never really got it out 'til recently. This character will be the star of my next game, but the question is what will it be? A platformer? A more sophisticated turn-based RPG? Maybe a beat-em-up? I really am not sure. I decided to ask you, Newgrounds, what it is that you guys really like. I haven't animated this character yet because I don't know what exactly people would want with this.

This character has complete control over the natural elements of the planet. He utilizes them for good, and punishes the wicked, severely. He is also a master in hand-to-hand combat. I do not have a name for him yet, though. Thats another thing that I could use help with: a name.

So, please, anyone, post suggestions for me? Name of character? Type of game? Other thoughts?

Something New.

Been busy with the sequel to Tankmen: Battle!. I know, I know, I said I didn't want to make a second one, or even liked making the first one. But I had ideas, and wanted to get them out. Plus I felt like the first one wasn't a good tribute to JohnnyUtah's epic characters. So this new one is much improved, and gives a tribute to the devilishly twisted creations of Krinkels. Thats right: Tankmen vs. Madness. This game will be released shortly; at the moment, the only thing I'm waiting on is Tom to approve the medals.

Fixes Include:
-Barrier skill balanced
-Rocket skill balanced and redesigned
-Stats balanced
-10 new weapons (one new weapon type)
-New customization slots (helmet attachments, chest attachments, belts, etc.)
-More pieces for the rest of the customization slots
-Much harder (No more abusing the flaws of the game)

And more. Remember to check it out when it comes out! It shouldn't be too much longer, at the moment its just a wait on Tom.

As I explained in the last post, I didn't much enjoy making Tankmen: Battle! for many reasons. But I feel refreshed now that I got it released.

Now, I'd like to talk about my next project. Another game, but this one will be huge. I call it Lucifer's Champion.

Lucifer's Champion is set in modern day. When a person dies, and it was controversial whether or not he was good or bad during life, they are sent to Satan's Arena. Satan's Arena is a coloseum in Hell, where these people that die are sent to do battle with demons. If the people prove themselves in the arena, they will be granted their freedom, and sent to Heaven. If they die in the arena, they are reborn as demons and stay in Hell. In this game, you play as a man who brutally murders a mugger, in order to protect his little brother. Upon doing so, police see him and arrest him. He is sentenced to death. When he dies, he awakens in Satan's Arena. After a few battles, our gladiator gets visited by Satan himself. He is offered his freedom to go to Heaven. But our gladiator does not want that. He wants to go back to Earth. So he makes a deal with the devil to complete impossible challenges set forth in the arena so he can earn his freedom and return to Earth.

There is much more information about it, but thats all I'll give you for now. It will be an epic tale of badassery. Lochie (night-mare) is interested in the project and will probably program it.

Before I go, I'll throw out a little preview. This will be one of the enemies in the game. More to come in the following weeks.
